My Irish Princess

Here are some recent pics of Lorelei. We gave her an early birthday present, a little ride on toy that she can also push. She looked cute for St. Patrick's Day. I also decided I would try to put her hair up and it came out as soon as we got in the car. I think she pulled it out but who knows!

Not too much has been going on here. We are just getting ready for the first party for Lorelei's birthday. We are having it down here in SC. The second one will be in Auburn the day after her real birthday.

We are also getting ready for Easter. John and I will be joining the Catholic church this year. John never made Confirmation and when I decided to join the church he decided to finish too. Then we will be driving to NY, that should be interesting. I will let you know what happens.

We are very excited to go to NY, my Dad has not seen Lorelei yet. In fact most people in NY haven't seen her yet. We will be sure to take lots of pictures of her with her second cousins!

Hope everyone has a great week!

Pediatric Cardiologist Visit

Today Aunt Jan and I took Lorelei to see Dr. Shuler. Lo was great with everything including the ECHO. Dr. Shuler said that the pressures through her valve were the same as the last visit and her heart muscle was not thickening. He still thinks that the valve will require surgery at some point but the longer we can wait, the better. He is sending a report to Dr. Bradley (he did her surgery at MUSC) and we are going to continue to see Dr. Shuler every 3 months for the next year and if things still stay the same then we can start going longer without seeing him. Yay!

On another note, John, Lorelei and I have all had the crud. John has had it the worst. He had a severe sinus infection and bronchitis. I think mine may be my allergies and Lorelei had a virus!

Lorelei is still 'cruising' and loves to play with Lola (our dog). She definitely has my personality and John says he's in for it! She knows what she wants and if she doesn't get her way look out! I will try to post some pics soon!

My Heart Is Full!

Happy Belated Valentine's Day to everyone! John and I celebrated by going out to lunch with Lorelei and relaxing all day! It was very nice. On Friday the 13th, we went to Lorelei's friend Evie's (in the purple dress) first birthday party! It was so much fun. It was also nice to be around families that have gone through the same thing we have. (The Butchers were there too, and by the way, Rebecca is pregnant again, please keep the family in your prayers!) We are going to have a play date this week with her too!

Lorelei is doing great. She is pulling up and cruising all over. She still isn't sure about the walking thing but she's a quick learner. She blows raspberries and claps all the time. She loves bathtime too.

Lorelei and I wore our Palmetto Hearts t-shirts on the same day to raise awareness for Congenital Heart Defects. Don't mind Lorelei, she just woke up.

We hope everyone has a great week!

Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Week

So Saturday started the week. John and I have bought shirts to let everyone know about the week. I will be wearing mine tomorrow as we have all decided to wear pink. On Friday we will wear red and then the whole family is going to celebrate our Heart Friend Evie's Birthday! I think that is the best way to end the week (other then Valentine's Day).

Lorelei is doing great, she has 4 teeth, crawling and clapping. She is also pulling up to standing and I have realized that I am NOT ready for her to walk yet. She's still my baby! We have to barricade her in the living room so she won't go into the kitchen and eat the dog food. She has busted through it a few times. It's pretty bad when a 9 month old outsmarts you! Here are some latest pics of the crazy haired one! Have a good week and remember to celebrate Congenital Heart Defect Awareness!

Happy Birthday Annabelle!

Today would be Annabelle's first birthday. She is the gorgeous daughter of our friends Rebecca and Scott, her blog is on the right hand side. She is now with our Lord but in honor of her birthday, the family is requesting us to bake pink cupcakes and send balloons up to Heaven. She asks that we send in pictures to her, I will post the email later this afternoon. I just wanted to remember Annabelle. Happy Birthday dear girl!

In with the new....

So I know I haven't been around for a while, I have a crawling child and that's the only way I can explain it! We had great holidays and then came the stomach virus. We all had it including my mom and my cousin. Not fun! We have had a few exciting things happen in the past few weeks. Lorelei started crawling and is now pulling up on anything and everything. She isn't pulling up on her feet just yet, just her knees but we know its coming. We have started babyproofing! Also she now has 3 teeth and several more trying to come in.
Lorelei had her 9 month Dr appointment today. She weighs 16lbs and is 28 inches long. Dr. Bonnett says that everything looks great. I am truly happy about that.
We have also found out that some of our friends are going to have a heart baby. They learned about this just last week. They are going to Charleston on Thursday to meet with the Pediatric Cardiologists there and find out more about what they are going to go through. So far they know he has a single ventricle and a small pulmonary artery and/or valve. Please pray for them as they journey through this time. I am going to add some pics from Christmas and winter. Hope everyone is doing well.

SNOW!!!

Her are some pics of Lorelei in her first snow! She tried to catch the snowflakes in her mouth without prompting!
