Bows and Spit Up

Do you like my bow my mommy got me? I know its too big now but really soon I will be sporting it around!
We've been fighting spit up lately. I don't think its acid reflux because she isn't fussy or arching her back. The only thing I can think of is that she doesn't burp well. I give her gas drops and I feel like I am burping her forever and then I hold her upright for 30 minutes after she eats but still we get spit up! But not at every feeding. I just don't know what to do. Anyone have any good ideas??
Other then that things are going well. She is growing out of her newborn stuff and fitting really well into the 0-3 months outfits. We may soon be able to start wearing the 3-6 months outfits. I'm going to have to start filling totes full of clothes. Oh my!
Lorelei told me to tell everyone to have a great weekend and she may let us sleep tonight!

Lorelei's new friend

Yesterday we went and met up with a family who's daughter Luci had the same heart surgery as Lorelei. She's a cutie! Her parents, Jeff and Wendy, are the sweetest people. We hope to continue regular visits! We think it will be good for the girls to know that they aren't the only ones in the world who have had heart surgery.

First shots

I thought that would be a lot harder then it actually was. L weighs in at 9lbs 4.5oz. Dr. B. is pleased with how she's progressing. We don't have to go back until Aug for her 4 month shots. Going back to work hasn't been that bad either. Saturday we are going to meet a family who has a daughter that is 2 months older than Lo. Her name is Luci and she had the same heart condition plus a few others that Lo had. We are very excited to meet them. Then on the 29th we will be going to a Palmetto hearts meeting. PH is a support group for families with heart children. Its nice to know there are things out there so we know we aren't alone. Lo says hey to everyone.

Back to work

So yesterday was another hard day in my life, dropping Baby Lo off at daycare for the first time. She did great, I cried. I only called to check on her 3 times. I thought that was good for me! Today her Early Interventionist is coming so we can work on "tummy time". Then I will go to work and drop her at daycare by myself. John went with me yesterday. Tomorrow is another big day, we get shots. Yay! As soon as I can get John to update pics on the computer, I will post some more. I am a little computer illiterate.

Friday the 13th, not so bad...

Today Lorelei and I went to see the cardiologist. She weighed in at exactly 9lbs. Her blood pressures, heart rate and breathing rate are good. We also had another ECHO and Dr. Shuler said that there is still a slight obstruction where the surgery was done but hopefully that will grow with her and be ok. He said he was pleased with her progress. If he's okay with it then I am okay with it. We go back to see him in 3 months.
On Monday I go back to work. I am not looking forward to it but I gotta do what I gotta do. I'm just going to try to enjoy the weekend with my daughter and husband.

Heat wave.....

It's been hotter then hot here in SC. Lorelei sure has told us that she isn't fond of the heat. She's been a little cranky. We will see Dr. Shuler on Friday and her Early Intervention Specialist tomorrow. Today we have graduated to size 1 diapers! I am so excited. I know that sounds silly but it means she's growing. She also almost slept through the night last night! I will update soon about her next 2 appointments.

She's getting big

So we had our Dr appt today and she didn't get her shots. Apparently we had a miscommunication last appt and she has to wait 2 more weeks, when she is 2 months old. I don't really mind because I wasn't looking forward to them anyway.
She weighs 8lbs 10oz and is 20 3/4 in long. Dr. Bonnett says she looks great! We are really excited about that. Next week we go to see Dr. Shuler (cardiologist) again. Things are looking good!

It's been a while...

Lorelei is doing very well! We have been going to our doctor's appointments and getting to know each other. At the last weigh in, about 2 weeks ago, she weighed 7lbs 5oz. She will go to the pediatrician on Thursday and hopefully weigh over 8 lbs. She will receive her immunizations but I think that will be a breeze after everything that she has been through. She did get her pictures taken and they are beautiful. I will post some as soon as I get them.
We have changed over to soy formula because we have had some projectile puking incidents and just some random spit ups. I will post a great pic of myself and Lorelei to show you how much fun it has been.
We've been figuring each other out and that means getting her to maintain a schedule and trying to calm a fussy baby when her witching hour starts anywhere between 5:30pm and 8pm. She is holding up her head and we can start "tummy time" after Thursday.
On Friday she will be 7 weeks! I can't believe it. It seems like she was just born yesterday.
