Hee Hee

So we did get the pictures made last night and of course we had the naked pics taken. While John was holding her she peed on him. It was hilarious! I'm just glad it wasn't me and it wasn't poop. She now thinks its a fun idea to wake up at 3:30am and stay up until 7am. I tried to tell her that it was still time to sleep but she really didn't care. Today Aunt Jan is coming to visit and we are going to go to lunch and to the Dr for Lorelei's hearing test. We should have a lot of fun today!

So today we are going to get pictures taken of our little angel. I can't wait, they were supposed to be newborn pics but they can be 1 month pics! When we get them back I will post some. Now I am going to try to get some sleep........yeah right!

So Monday was my first day at home alone with the Munchkin. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. She slept most of the day. Yesterday we saw the pediatrician and he was pleased with the weight gain. She now weighs 6lbs 7.5oz. He put her on Zantac for reflux but reflux is common in children that have had heart surgery. We also ventured out to the mall with the Hollis'. She got her first Build a Bear. Regan made it for her and named it Fuzzi (the i on the end makes it more feminine). I am still sleep deprived but am dealing with it.

Lorelei

Lorelei was born on 4/18/08. Two days later she was flown to MUSC in Charleston because she was diagnosed with an interrupted aortic arch and a VSD (hole in her heart). She had her surgery on 4/24/08 and we were back at home on 5/3/08. We feel lucky to have the support from all of our friends and family because we drew strength from that.
Our first week at home has been very tiring. I think that I am at that deliriously tired stage but I have been told it gets better. We have had 2 Dr appointments this week and each said she looks great! Her pediatric cardiologist is amazed at how she has progressed. John and I keep saying she is here for a reason. We have also had some spit up incidents and hope that when we go see the pediatrician tomorrow he won't have to put her on medicine for reflux. We are prepared for that though because it is common for babies that have had surgery like this to have reflux.
This week coming up will be eventful for me because John goes back to work so I am on solo duty. We have 2 Dr appointments this week too. Tomorrow the pediatrician and on Friday we go see an audiologist because anyone who goes on the heart-lung bypass machine may have some hearing loss. She has passed 2 hearing tests so far.
Please keep praying for Miss Lorelei as we have to make sure that her aortic valve and the tissue underneath it are growing at the same rate she is growing. Also, please keep her roomies in PCICU at MUSC (Ryan and Montgomery) in your prayers.
